PLEXSYS Australia Pty Ltd (PLEXSYS) and Precinct 52 are working to investigate facility options at Precinct 52 which is part of the NSW State Government’s Williamtown Special Activation Precinct which includes the rezoning of further land at Williamtown.
PLEXSYS is an example of a US employee-owned company opening a new Asia Pacific branch office, investing in Australia, and enabling that company to flourish and grow by recruiting Australian veterans and local skilled people. PLEXSYS Australia was started by one person that has now grown to be 8 people, some of whom have transferred from interstate to work in the region. There is a solid growth path to around 20 people which will happen within the next 12-18 months. The main Headquarters will be in Williamtown; however, the team will continue to support operations around Australia, New Zealand and the wider Asia Pacific region.
To support the super base structure of RAAF Base Williamtown all future development is to be controlled by a newly formed NSW Government Regional Government Development Corporation (RGDC).
Director of PLEXSYS Australia, Robert Miller commented,
“We first moved into WAC facilities at Williamtown in 2016 with only a single employee. By focussing on our desire to create a Defence company which simply put, did things differently, and ensuring that our value is measured by how our people and products add to our customer’s success, we have grown to where we are now, and have the solid growth path going forward. PLEXSYS Australia is committed to supporting our local community and adding value to the Government’s Australia Industry Capability plan.”
Managing Director, James Garvey commented,
“We are excited to continue to work with PLEXSYS Australia one of the world’s leading simulation companies. PLEXSYS Australia is a wonderful success story where one man has substantially grown the company’s local presence in attracting new employees to the region while PLEXSYS Australia continues to deliver and expand our local defence technology capabilities. The Precinct 52 team is working diligently to develop facilities that will meet PLEXSYS’s requirements. It is excellent for the region that now many other Defence SMEs are expanding their local presence and new firms are seeking to move to the Williamtown area.”
About Precinct 52, the next stage of the Williamtown Aerospace Centre
Precinct 52 continues the success of the Williamtown Aerospace Centre (WAC). The Precinct 52 (P52) estate will continue to enable organisations to be part of Australia’s national and international Aerospace and Defence Technology capability.
Extending the success of the Technology Place development with an aesthetic balance of building form and functionality, Precinct 52 will offer a greater spectrum of facility solutions. Fourteen hectares of land will be developed with full scale B double truck industrial road access. Our experienced development partners include Drayton Group, the successful local construction company that has built the six Defence buildings located at Technology Place, Williamtown.
Precinct 52 will be the platform for world class assembly, workshop, commercial and light industrial space, warehouse, logistics and distribution. The Williamtown Aerospace Centre is continuing to prove itself as the premier Australian destination for Aerospace and Defence Technology companies seeking to expand into Australia and as a gateway to the Asian markets.
Each facility will be custom designed to suit tenants’ requirements in fulfilment of ongoing Department of Defence contracts.
Precinct 52 is located off the gateway to Newcastle Airport and Williamtown Drive – which enables businesses to be located with other aerospace and air industry companies, and adjacent to Australia’s largest operating Air Force base, RAAF Williamtown, and Newcastle Airport for ease of access all over Australia.
