TAFE NSW, Australia’s largest training provider delivers training to the next generation of skilled aviation employees through our strong partnership with Newcastle Airport. The purpose-built Aviation Delivery Hub at TAFE NSW Newcastle ensures the Hunter region’s aviation skills training is aligned with local workforce needs. Equipped with the latest global industry skills and techniques, Aeroskills graduates may seek employment opportunities at Newcastle Airport or the Defence Force, as part of the Williamtown Special Aviation Precinct project.

The Aviation Delivery Hub

The Aviation Delivery Hub delivers specialised training in areas such as flight operations, transport security and drone training. Established to develop highly skilled and knowledgeable aviation professionals, the training centre uses:

  • State-of-the-art equipment, including a Cessna aircraft
  • Generic hand skills trainers
  • Avionic workshop
  • Mechanical workshop/sheet metal workshop
  • Aircraft wiring board

In addition, TAFE NSW is collaborating with University staff and students to build a Zenith STOL 750 aircraft.

The Aviation Delivery Hub also includes an aviation maintenance broadcast room, which enables local expert training to be broadcast into other receiving points around NSW. This digitally-enabled technology allows students from around the state to study via a virtual classroom and gain skills for in-demand aviation careers.
