ViaSat Chooses Australia’s Williamtown Aerospace Centre-Technology Place to Advance Regional Government-Focused Maintenance, Training and Logistics Operations

WILLIAMTOWN, NSW Australia – February 16, 2016 – ViaSat Inc. (VSAT), a global broadband services and technology company, announced today its plans to open a maintenance, training and logistics facility for its regional government-focused products, software and services businesses at the Williamtown Aerospace Centre –Technology Place. The facility is located adjacent to RAAF Base Williamtown, two hours north of Sydney, Australia.

The ViaSat operations, located in Building D within the Williamtown Aerospace Centre, are due to be completed in February 2016, with occupancy scheduled for March 2016. The facility will house maintenance, training and logistics operations for ViaSat Tactical Data Link (TDL) systems including the KOR-24A Small Tactical Terminal, which provides real-time situational awareness and command and control via Link 16 applications and other secure, spectrum-efficient line-of-sight digital data links.

The Williamtown Aerospace Centre (WAC) enables organisations to be part of Australia’s national and international Defence Technology capability.  Stage 1, known as Technology Place, is currently comprised of two buildings with a third building under construction now, with each facility being custom designed to suit tenants’ requirements in fulfilment of ongoing Department of Defence contracts.  Each property has been built to meet Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) ready Intruder Resistant Area. All tenancies at Technology Place have access to Defence Secure Networks (subject to Defence approvals).
