Newcastle Airport

Newcastle Airport is one of Australia’s fastest growing airports and offers easy access to Australian capital cities and regional centres. The airport has continued to grow year-on-year and welcomed 1.18 million passengers in 2010.

Buildev is a leading property and construction company looking to develop a 20 hectare site within the WAC precinct which is identified for future industrial development related to defence and airport activities, creating business and employment opportunities.

Buildev are also working with Newcastle Airport preparing to construct a new Fixed Base Operation Hanger in the airport’s Aerospace East Precinct for the use by private aircraft. Buildev plan to commence construction of the FBO in 2011.

The Newcastle Airport Master Plan, approved by Department of Defence in 2006, identified almost three hectares for a dedicated Aerospace East Precinct, which includes airside land with Code E taxiway and apron access. This land is immediately available for long term lease and is ideal for commercial or defence related aerospace industry.

Other developments include the expansion of the existing terminal that will be  ‘international ready’ with customs, quarantine and immigration facilities supported by a retail hub, upgraded check-in facilities, new arrivals hall, duty free stores as well as extensive commercial office space.
